Working my way through my first bottle of Buffalo Trace, going down real nice. About half the time it goes in an old fashioned, been working on perfecting it. Even made my own demerara sugar syrup.

Wild Turkey Longbranch one of my favourites to date. I think I'll be trying the WT 101 very soon when the buffalo trace runs out

I visited Buffalo Trace this summer. What an experience.

They open at 9AM and people get there early to visit the gift shop and buy bourbon. There's a long line into a building with 4 registration desks. When you get to the desk they take your driver's license and scan it into a computer that prints out a wristband. Then you can head to the gift shop.

There is a sign at the entrance with "today's offering". They put out a limited quantity of the day's offering in the gift shop, and when it's gone, it's gone... usually by about 11:30AM. I went 3 days in a row and was lucky to get Blanton's, Eagle Rare, and EH Taylor. Weller is their 4th offering. Every day you can buy one bottle per person of Buffalo Trace, but you can only buy one bottle of the day's offering per person every 3 months. When you pay at the register they scan your wristband and record the date that you bought that particular bourbon.

None of their bourbons are available around here so it was like winning the lottery, I love EH Taylor and Blantons.

People call it overhyped. Not sure why, most of their stuff is amazing for MSRP. Since it's tough to find, Woodford is my go to. I just love the Double Oak and rye and I don't even like rye.

I just bought that two months ago! Saving it for when I graduate from MBA school. Master's degree calls for a master bourbon.

Im sure I have some bourbon Ive never tried it before. I usually drink Don Julio Anejo Tequila or Casamigos Anejo

Our biggest liquor stores here will occasionally get Buffalo Trace or Blanton's. Never EH Taylor, once in a blue moon Eagle Rare.

The other day I was in buying Bulleit 10 Year (one of my faves) and saw a cardboard case of BT behind the counter. I asked if there were any it in and they said yep, just came in, we don't even put it on the shelf, we sell it in a couple hours just like this. So two of them joined the Bulleit for the ride home.

Weird hearing the Buffalo Trace stories…that was the one that got me started in the Bourbon world, and it was everywhere 2-3 years ago. Same story here nowadays, local shop can’t keep it on the shelf.

….and agreed on the Bulleit 10year, good stuff!

It’s not as smooth as casamigos anejo. You should try that. Siempre Anejo is hard to find but it’s as smooth as water lol
