Hello; I was talking to a salesman about a new, but leftover, grey 2020 GT on the phone. We are a bit apart, so far, on the price. This is not what my question is about.
In the conversation the salesman tried to steer me to a "used" red GT with 800 miles. I quoted the used part because he says the car was purchased by the exhaust company BORLA as a test car for working up some sort of product. He claims it was not titled to an individual, for what that may be worth. Apparently the car has an exhaust system from BORLA left in place. I do not know if it is a prototype or actually much of anything about the exhaust system.

Here is my question. Does anyone have an opinion or knowledge about the pros or cons of buying what I must guess is a test mule. I do not really have much of an idea about what the car may have been subjected to, but my imagination tends to run to the extreme.

I left it at having the salesman try to get the price I want on the new grey GT first. The dealership is over 100 miles away so I am talking on the phone for now.

Start with calling Borla and verifying the salesperson's claims. Ask them how the car was treated, how it was used.

Also, e-shop Koons Ford and Ted Britt Ford on pricing.
