Billet - What's that about?

Billet is the new "chrome", or at least it was until semi-affordable carbon fiber hit the market. As most commonly used, it's an appearance mod.

We used to say "if it don't go, chrome it" to separate the 'go' from the 'show' sides of the hobby. Too bad neither "... billet it" nor "... CF it" has the same ring.
