So I tried a search and came up with a few results but it was mostly about what boost is best.... I had a single turbo S197 mustang and loved the boost but hated the lag. So, to the point, im new to the S550 and IRS parts but plan on throwing a twin turbo kit on my S550 so I am looking for advice on supporting mods.
I am pretty much sold on going with a ON3 gen2 top mount twin turbo kit. HP goals are around 800HP if the stock engine can take it... I'll build a forged one down the line.... anything I should avoid or look out for?
For suspension I see lots of people using the "stop the hop" package from Steeda, is that a good option? Do you need the adjustable links?
I am thinking I want coil-overs on this car. I had adjustable shocks & Struts on the last car and it worked well but I always had rattles. I think a good set of coil-overs would reduce NVH but accomplish the same job, is there a good set for a decent price? Not looking for the cheapest option, but dont need the top of the line either.
What are other things I need to consider and be aware of when lowering the S550?
What are some popular intake manifold and throttle body options? Things to avoid?
Power limits of the stock fuel system on 93 octane and E85? When are injectors and additional fuel pumps needed?
The S197 had a weak drive shaft, does the S550 need a one piece to hold the power? I'll probably do this regardless but good to know. what about axles?
Front wheels... What clears the 4 piston breaks? will a 17" wheel clear? any ideas what a s197 wheel would look like on the S550?
I am sure I am missing things here and I would appreciate educated opinions on mods I should be throwing on the car as I prepare to turbo it in the coming months.
Thanks!
