Despite my best effort to label and bag all the pieces when they came out of the car, I can not seem to find the nuts that secure the power and grounding connections to my starter.
I had all the other bolts and nuts in the bag (for the starter) but just can't seem to locate what the hell I did with the nut that goes under the little plastic cover (for the main power connection) or the nuts that secure the starter neutral or the harness ground strap (the one to the motor mount bolt).
My question is more general (although it'd be wonderful to have specific help).
Why is it so difficult for us to find this type of information. I looked through the removal/install pdfs I downloaded from Ford and while they're very helpful with color coded instructions and views and procedures and torque settings, they do not indicate specifications/information on the parts/pieces.
I know I could buy a mixed bag of nuts and just try the particular thread pattern until I get one that works, but is there any resource that helps with figuring out nuts, bolts, connectors, etc.?
It seems strange that in 2021 with all the information available to humanity, trying to find specific part information on cars is way more difficult than it should be.
