I wasn't expecting so much Fox hatred. I hold the unpopular opinion of hating everything New Edge though and being a Terminator sadly isn't enough to overcome that.

Cobra R and Termi are the only New Edge models I really care for. I like the early SN’s better than the New Edge (except for the 2 mentioned above). Probably an unpopular opinion as well 🤷🏻‍♂️.

The number of “pass” on the Fox has surprised me too. Different strokes for different folks but the Fox was very popular back then and has had a resurgence in popularity the last handful of years

I'm not real surprised, the SN-95 never really did it for me until the Mach 1 showed up. I warmed up to the Bullitt somewhat, but I absolutely hated the 01 GT I did buy. Couldn't stomach writing that check every month...seriously. The Camillo Pardo designed Termi was at least palatable to me, but the Mach 1s hood and shaker and overall technical upgrades made for a car I could love.
As far as the Fox cars, they were a hit when new and then quickly forgotten, but they broke important ground and now get more and more attention. I had an 82 GT brand new...with its mighty 157 HP 5.0 2V, and SROD 4 speed. It was a beast in its time, and they only got better from there.

I loved Foxes but they were always just there, for most of my time aware of what cars were they remained fairly consistent. Then the '94 came along and I thought it was gorgeous. It was the the modernization of the Mustang I never knew I wanted until I saw it. But then it got redesigned in '99 to that horrid turd and I felt betrayed. Kinda reminds me of the current S650 so I hope they get the redesign right in a few years.
