See the American Muscle write up to help make your decision. You pay for what you get really. Pay a little more, and get more performance. Pay $300 for shorties, or pay $400 for Longtubes gaining over 10+ to 20HP over stock (depending if you are running Catts or, not)...Either way you'll be happy but, in my opinion, if you want to squeeze all you can sound wise and power wise from your stang, why not spend a little extra? Go big or, go home!

I thought the long tubes were like $470? and if you compare hp with shorties/catless mid pipes to long tubes with catless midpipes...at most youll get another 10hp. to me it wasn't worth the price or the hassle with going to LT's. but, if like Nolan you don't mind dropping the coin, go for it I guess.

bbk has dyno graphs showing like 15lbs of tq, and 10-12hp I think, on a stock car. id have to double check that though

AM sells the long tubes for the 11-14(since they done make a LT x/h pipe for the 15 yet) with a x pipe for 1,070.....the headers are $470. to each his own, just wasn't worth that much to me. if you go high flow catted, your really going to pay. ive got $570 in my shorty/lethal catless mid pipe setup, and the gains are probably closer to the long tube setup than you might think. I guess that's the joy of modding your car, we each do it the way we like :)

I paid $424 total for the shipping and everything from BBK for the Longtubes. The Mid catted-h pipe from BBK cost $389 so, $813 total for the pair from BBK. AM doesn't show the 15' Mid pipes yet because they've only just been produced. I think with all of my mods and unleahsed tunes, this will be a badass car soon enough! I'm not knocking the Shorties by any means, I like they way they sound. I just wanted the high flow catts, H pipe and Long tubes to pair with my Roush axlebacks. I know my neighbors might not enjoy my cold starts here at 6am each morning, lol. Who cares.

All the youtube videos are scaring me away from h pipes and x pipes. Some sound good on a cold start but once they started reving their engines, it becomes very raspy. Kind of like bees in a hollow can. lol Also the videos with the long tube headers sound pretty raspy too. I think I'm just stick with my flowmaster outlaws with some shorty headers and call it a day for my exhaust. But hey, everyone has their own taste in sound.

I really like his this guys exhaust sound. He only has the flowmaster outlaws and shorty headers. I believe he's a member on this forum too.

I'm on the same boat. Not sure if I want to add BBK Shorty headers or not. As for my current system, I have a CAI, X-Pipe, MF Axelbacks.

I went with X-pipe route because as stated before, if sounds all sorts of pissed off past 4K. Which isn't that point of it? I might just go the "other" route and delete the cats and drop an extra 20 at inspection or something and go with long tubes.

My thing is..guys want it to sound like a 8...its never going to...embrace the 6 lol. I think the x pipe sounds killer, given the right mufflers

Not me, Im very satisfied with just my flowmaster outlaw's by themselves. From what Ive seen, the bbk shortys deepen the sound a bit so thats a plus. I just can't stand loud raspy exhaust and if my car was raspy and loud, it would annoy me a whole lot. Kind of like those honda's with the loud fart cans. Im trying to not be like them. I once had a 4 cylinder honda and the exhaust stayed stock for that very reason.

Exactly. :D Everyone has their preference in sound. It doesn't mean if its better or worse just different taste in sound.
