So this is what happened to me this morning:

The radio was playing the last station that I tuned it to, and I could turn the volume up and down (but no other buttons were responsive!). I couldn't even turn the radio on and off with the power button in the middle of the volume knob.

I turned the car off, and opened the door to turn off the entertainment system. Same result. I did that again, this time with the Bluetooth in my phone turned off (thinking maybe it was a sync issue?). Same result. I also disconnected my iPod in the center console USB (usb2). Nothing.

Pressing the sync command button while the radio in this mode shuts off the radio. Pressing the power button in the volume knob turns it back on.

Anyone know what the hell is happening here?

or you can hold the next song bottom on the steering wheel and the radio power bottom at the same time. it's easier!!

This has happened to me twice. In both cases the radio came back after sitting an hour.

Pull the fuse, put it back in. Use your manual to figure out which one.

its happened to mine 1 time since Nov.
Glad it's not just me. Means that I don't have a defective radio? (I hope we don't all have defective head units!). You listening, Ford? :ford:

Got any details on this? I tried it on my last radio "black screen" (today!) and it didn't work...:tsk:

Happened again today...worse than before. Screen completely black, no audio. Power button unresponsive. Had to pull fuse 33 again to get my system back...:frusty:

I'm having this problem frequently. See my thread here for possible solutions:

TLDR, try holding next track button on the steering wheel and power button together, might think about putting a toggle switch on the sync fuse/wire in an easily accessible location to force reboot the system.
