what good would it have been to find a car in Canada under MSRP, he lives in New Orleans?
I was responding to the guy who lives in Ontario who thinks GT350s all went over MSRP

So what if I don't own a GT350? I wanted a competition orange GT350 with the track package and no other options. None were left within a 2000 kilometer radius of me.

Dealers in Toronto were selling them for under MSRP. There are 2017s being discounted 4k off currently. The GT350 is not hot in Canada when there are so many on the lot, rotting. I know of a Ruby Red GT350R that has been sitting on the lot for at least 3 months now.
i wanted AG or CO, but I ended up with black. black at MSRP vs 5-10K for AG or CO.

I'll wrap it if it becomes untenable. :-)

If i knew what I know now about warranty coverage, etc, I would have gone to canada and bought a car there.

In Ontario, a base GT350 was $62,599. That's what I paid, plus got a free car cover valued at $475.00 in the deal. A Track or Tech pack was an extra $8000.00 or so + extra taxes on that amount. Like I said before, the Base GT350 was the best bang for the bucks in 2016.

Not likely. You can't just buy a car in Canada and take it across the boarder. You'd have to live in Canada then move to the US. Cars sold in Canada are clearly marked on the sticker "Not for sale outside of Canada" and it's not easy to do what you are suggesting. There are a limited number of GT350's allotted for Canada and Ford wants them sold and used in Canada.

If the car has been registered at DOT for a period 6 months than the car can be sold in USA as a used car at anytime.

I was reffering to a new car. Thus the comment about the window sticker.

You keep harping on the straight line stuff like it's supposed to be the only thing that matters.

I wouldn't use a GT350 in any flavor for drag racing. (edit: it's the wrong tool for that job)

So why does every road test magazine give you straight line 0-60 mph performance times if it does matter? :headbonk:

I'll gladly give up a tenth or two for the Mag ride.

The magazines test 0-60 on everything. Even Toyota Siennas, but I'm guessing nobody seriously drag races those. ;)

Magazines also test 1/4 mile times.

I didn't want to spend 8K on 4 Magride shocks & couple oil coolers. By the way, those shocks are now standard on Chevy/GMC pickup truck:headbang:

I'm not sure what this post has to do with anything. Especially the pickup part.

They test 0-60 and 1/4 mile times on almost everything. They are standard tests. I get not wanting to spend the extra money, but to tout it as some sort of performance advantage is odd, considering how small it is. And can be erased by driver talent etc.

Like I said before a 100lbs is a car length from a stop light. So if you enjoy looking at taillights & license plates........:amen:
