Cant express yourself like an adult yet? Most people buy gts to drag race or hit up road courses. Sorry you dont like the demographic of typical mustang owners.
No need to be rude, guy. Also, you don't define what 'typical' mustang owners do or don't like. A little humility goes a long way. I think it's awesome. Wouldn't do it myself since I'm a cheapass, but it's cool as hell.

Its still not as good as a properly set up suspension. This is for a look, it will not perform the same or better then what i mentioned above
Again, 'properly set up suspension' is subjective. You need to stop speaking in absolutes.

Bags have many advantages over mechanical springs. In NO way does it 'ruin' anything.

Mustang_guy has some learning to do.

Not my first rodeo. I've forgotten more about Mustangs than most people know.

Where are all the shocks and struts currently? There are none really other than the Viking tears and a couple of coil over set ups.

Tokico and Koni have yet to release anything.

With what is on the market, contrary to your belief, this is the best suspension setup available.
This coming from the guy claiming adjustable spring rates and dampening (pretty sure you meant damping but what do I know) from air ride? Guess we're learning in all the wrong places.

You posted this for a reaction to the vehicle yet you're surprised when some people dont care for it?

it has an engine!
im glad you think i have learning to do. Id be willing to bet ive built more mustangs then yourself. Not that its a contest, but id bet money on it that your suspension choice is not the best. Best for what you want, sure. Im aware of whats on the market. Your system will never be better then a properly set up purpose built set up for drag or road course. it takes a lot more to improve handling then being low. Suspension geometry has to be drasticlay changed properly to improve handling at that ride height. The only person that drastically changes suspension geometry like that for mustangs is griggs racing. They dont even have a kit ready yet. Bags serve no real functionality other then to be low. They will never be used for drag racing, never will it be used for road courses. Dont pretend like what youve done handles well. Id be willing to bet you destroyed your scrub radias too.

Not to beat a dead horse, as I'd like to move forward. I'd just like to address a few things.

Starting with my own comments:

Whitemare said:

Pretty pretentious thing to say. Sound like a douche. Sorry. Was set off a bit by the off beat remarks that I'll refer to below, and this would have been better off as: "it's all good. I've built these before, and I know the pros/cons".

I'm certainly know what you get with posting on a forum, but I tried to keep the naysayers out with the thread title. Perhaps I should edit the title. If you don't like the airlift setup, why not just skip past the thread, versus click the link to drop witty remarks like these:

Because everyone is doing the bagged fad does not mean its cool. You will soon do the atrocious camber crap to your car?

IMO some mods have been over done and actually ruin the car.
What warranted this? Did I offend you with my post? You don't like them, why did you click the link? No need for a response, unless you'd like to. Just a rhetorical question. We've hashed it out.

Stanced or bags ruins cars in the sense of function. I cant support it. Too each their own.
Again, what was the need to post this comment? Pretty odd to comment that I've ruined the function of the car, and not expect a response. Frankly, I'm still not understanding how I've lost any sense of function with this AirLift setup. I didn't really take much offense to this actually, and you can read my original reply back to this comment:

"Adjustable "spring rate" and dampening ruins what function? Don't need your support, I'm fine on my own.

You guys saw the thread title and still came in anyways?

Please tell me more about how I'm ruining the car."

Don't let it get to you man! your car looks great! There is a reason that aftermarket supports many different styles. Its because we all have different tastes..

Would I bag my mustang - probably not, but it sure looks amazing on yours and is a pretty bad ass feature!

enjoy it man, i think it looks pretty damn sweet!
I appreciate this! It doesn't really get to me, other than that I know better. Hahaha. Can't get mad at someone else's ignorance.

They seem to not understand what the system consists of. I'm under the impression that they think this is the ride height that I had posted at.

I actually prefer to ride a bit higher than my Pro Kit had me at. I just like to drop it when parked occasionally for the looks. I love the performance. Much nicer than the Performance Pack struts and shocks paired with the Eibach Pro Kit.

Yeah, I love the way that we can build these very unique from each other. So much aftermarket support for the Mustangs! We are spoiled in comparison to the Mopar guys!

Cant express yourself like an adult yet? I wasnt rude to you. I expressed my thoughts politely, unlike yourself. You clearly must be used to having most people agree with my sentiments. I came in hoping it wasn't slammed. Not all bagged cars are slammed. I came in to see. It still will not function the same as a properly set up coilovers or upgraded shocks with appropriate spring rates. This is a public forum, expect not everyone to agree with your tastes. If you dont want to be open to positive and negative feed back you should post on a forum geared for the trend. Most people buy gts to drag race or hit up road courses. Sorry you dont like the demographic of typical mustang owners.

I guess this is my attempt at posting like an adult. Never meant any harm my man. Just wanted to create a little collective of cars that have been bagged.

If nothing else, sorry for the nonsense. We don't need this.

Brother, I'm a married man. I'm not used to being agreed with at all! Can I get an :amen:

I've built 3 S197 Mustangs, and now this one. All of the other Mustangs have been what you referred to as the typical Mustang owner. I'm an adjustable shocks and struts with a nice lowering spring kinda guy normally. I build street/road coarse cars. Cars that can be daily driven and take a beating a track. This is my first step into the AirLift suspension setup, and like I always do, I did an awful lot of research leading up to this purchase. In the end, I'm very happy with my purchase.

I understand your Slammed/Performance concerns with a bagged setup. This is a Performance setup that allows you to drop the car as well. I'm not sure if you understand or not, but I don't drive like this. Hahaha! It's just for pictures and occasional fun when parking. Otherwise it's all about getting the best handling experience!

I'm still not sure if you completely understand what this AirLift Kit consists of. You took the time to click this thread out of curiosity, so click this link to check out some tidbits of what this kit is about:

Basics:

Slammed vs Performance:

The Meat and Potatoes of What this Kit Consists of:

This coming from the guy claiming adjustable spring rates and dampening (pretty sure you meant damping but what do I know) from air ride? Guess we're learning in all the wrong places.

I suggest clicking the last link I posted above to learn a bit more about what I was referring to and what this kit provides.

Dampening! Yep, gets me every time. I call them dampeners too. Always have. Sorry man. My mistake, wish I could have called it a typo. I've been called out on it more than once. :headbonk:

This thread wasn't intended to be a look at me thread. It was meant for all of the bagged guys, or potential bagged guys to share pics and knowledge of their setups, and wheel and tire setups. Post some awesome pics in the process.

It also wasn't intended to be a thread for other guys to come in and let us all know that we've gone and goofed!

Probably have built more than me. I just listed mine above. 2005 Kenne Bell GT, 2007 NA GT, 2011 Whipple GT, and now this 2015. As I mentioned earlier, douchey comment I had made about forgetting more than most know. However, I know enough that I'd call this an educated decision, and not a following the leader kinda deal. It was well thought out my dude!

I get what you're saying about it not being the "BEST" suspension setup. An all Griggs setup would be awesome! Do I really want that though? No. Even a complete Cortex setup would be awesome! Did I set out to do that when I started planning this build? No. Is it the "BEST for what I want"? Absolutely! Doesn't that actually make it the Best then? I build the car for me. Know what I mean.

It all makes sense, you think this is ride height. No brother. Wheels wouldn't even turn! Hahaha! That'd be ridiculous! Hahaha!

My ride height is about 3/4 lower than stock in the front and rear.

I'm still messing with it a bit to dial everything in, but even out the box it handles amazing!

Drag racers absolutely use them! You won't see them on any 8 second cars, but I can point you to dozens of people who are running AirLift setups on their GT's and GT500s well into the 9's.

Only thing I've destroyed is my Whipple fund brother! Hahaha!

Hope you are looking forward as well.

Everyone relax and let's move forward with the intent of the thread topic. If you have nothing to add, move on.
Nothing else to add sir. Carry on!

Some guys like it, some don't. I know the guys that do are passionate about it. If someone with bags has an issue they can always adjust it.

How 'bout everyone just show a little respect for each other on here?

As others have said, this is not for me but it definitely looks good sitting there dropped to the ground. I definitely get the benefit of being able to raise/drop the car at will. Pretty cool!

That being said, I have one general question about air suspension. When you're lifting/lowering it, how does that affect your camber/alignment? Is it thrown off the second you raise or lower it?

Hey man. You get the alignment dialed in at your ride height. You only drop it when at a stand still and would only really raise it to clear ramps or driveways and speed bumps.

So the alignment gets affected when dropped or raised, but at ride height it's dialed. Right where you want it to be.

Good question!

If its not your thing its just not your thing no need to tell people how you think their car should be modded, some want look, some want performance, some want comfort; individuality is what its all about and that's what Mustang is about! :ford: :headbang:

Back to the bagged Mustangs!
Neither are my car and not sure if these guys are on here (hope they doesn't mind me posting)
