Took my Bullitt in for its first oil change and got some recall work done, too.
Something about the backup camera possibly failing so Ford would do something, I don’t know what, to make it better.
Mine was working fine so I didn’t even think about it much - as you can tell by now - beyond that it was recommended and free, so why not do it.
Here’s the thing: the resolution or something seems improved.
Not that it was bad before, but it seems better; crisper, clearer.
Which, by the way, wasn’t the issue leading to the recall, far as I know.
Anyone else have this experience?

Thanks for the post and info. I got a recall notice on my gt 350 for the camera. It’s a 2020. Camera works fine so I’m a little concerned about bringing it in and having them do work on it. I’m still pissed about the air bag recall on my 08 gt. They ended up scratching the panel above the glove box during the fix.

I hear you.
I asked my local dealer to adjust the hinges on my doors so the door and window trim would align better - see pic of how it came from Flat Rock - and though it’s a tiny bit better now, it’s still not 100%.
And so now I’m hesitant to let them have another go in case they do something to make things worse.
It didn’t help inspire my confidence that when they did my first oil change - and even though all I wanted was an oil change - they overinflated the tires by a few psi.
Someone there must have thought it takes the same pressure as an F150.

I haven’t done the recall on my 2020 yet. Sometimes it just goes black and a message comes up to have the dealer look at it. I rarely if ever use it, I use the mirrors.

Be advised....if your backup camera has guide lines displayed....and you like them....I was told by my dealership that the replacement camera does not have the guide lines. My 2020 camera is recalled, but it is and has worked perfectly. I worked out a deal with my dealership for them to get the replacement camera and just give it to me to do my own replacement IF my current camera ever fails. I like the back up guide lines.

Plus....the dealership will take the vertical back panel off to replace the camera and we all know how delicate that back panel is. It just seems ripe for some tech to not watch what they are doing and either put some scratches in the panel or not get it realigned correctly going back on.

I'll do my own work if the time ever comes.

This is one of the reasons i dont go to the dealers/rely on warrantees: it’s unlikely they will be as careful with my vehicle as i would be. Had this problem with the Harley: taking it in for covered maintenance resulted in maintenance tasks not being done, and getting the bike back with more nicks and dings than it stared with. i can do all of my own work; i know that is not an option for everyone. the warrantee and dealer are there for major catastrophes only.
