Gold calipers, gold striping and a gold firebird on the hood. That should confuse the hell out of a lot of people.
For even more confusion, bust out the Sawzall and install a T-top...

On my PP2 I had Xpel installed on the front clip, the hood from the heat extractors forward, tops of the heat extractors, A pillars, mirrors, rocker panels and lowest portion of the doors, door handles, and the big pieces on the quarter panels as I mentioned before. The price was around $1,100-$1,200. I can't remember exactly.
In regards to doing 2 layers of the Xpel, my quarter panel pieces (single layer) are getting beat to sh*t in front of the rear wheel openings where the quarter panel flares out over the back tires (after 5000 miles). I figure that I will need to get these pieces replaced every 3-4 years. PPF is the first thing I did to the car, and worth every dime.
I wonder if the Xpel will stick to itself?
That's a good question and one I'm definitely going to ask. My heart sank when I saw those 2 new chips yesterday when waxing.

Sorry to hear about the rock chips...
Thanks...its so frustrating. I don't know what the deal is with their paint or process but its definitely not the same quality they use on their 16 and older F250'S for sure. I've own(ed) 3 F250s from 13-16 and the paint is remarkably well done. The 18GT and now the 19GT not so much. I'm going to limit the miles till I can get the PPF put on after the corrections are made.

I had to wait about a month to get PPF put on the Mustang. Didn't drive the car. Put painters tape on to drive it home from the dealer and to the PPF shop.
Where I live in Oregon they put cinders on the snowy/icy roads in the winter. Put PPF on both my winter driving vehicles because the cinders absolutely destroy the paint with rock chips.
Don't drive my Mustang in the winter, but PPF'd it because even though they sweep the roads in the spring, they never get all the rocks swept off.

I should've done the same

I too had to wait a month to get my car in for PPF and ceramic. During that time I tried to be as careful as possible. But it doesn’t matter. You can park your car until the day you bring it to you detailer. Then on the way there a truck throws up a rock. Shit happens, you get them fixed and move on. As far as the paint, yeah, maybe it’s not what used to be but it is what it is. No paint is going to hold up to a rock that hits it just right.

Figures. Had PPF done on the front bumper and headlights and where do you think I got two chips. On the friggin hood. Didn't want to get the half hood cause the line shows up on black. Just ordered Dr Colorchip.

I was also only going to have the front half of the hood done as well. Then a friend told me I was an idiot. He said, you know you're going to get a chip on the back half of the hood if you do that. So I listened to him and had the full hood done. Guess what? Got a pebble on the hood about 1 inch from the rear edge. PPF did its job, I could barely see it when it happened and now it's gone altogether. I also had the "A" pillars done as that has always been a problem area for me.

Have you used the Dr Colorchip before?
Just wondering if it is a good product. I don't have any experience with any of the chip repair products.
Mustang is OK, but got a small scrape on my truck bed from a ladder.:frown:

Dr. Colorchip is excellent. I’ve used it for years. Simple to use and great results.

Used Dr Colorchip on my chips today. Black is a bitch. It's gonna take a lot of coats to fill in these babies.
Damn Black is so reflective you see everything.
