Another option to just unleash a bit of sound as you say, is to look to replace the OEM resonator with an X-PIPE or H-PIPE. You need to cut the back boxes off to replace them so if you are willing to do that, then consider cutting out the resonator and replacing that instead. A few videos can be found online and I believe there is one on CJ Ponyparts as well.

what about these AND an axle back?

Is it wrong that I think I just fell in love with the girl in the American Muscle video.

I wouldn't climb over her to get to Bill from CJPP... ;)

But you said you could afford it? :p
I can but I still have to justify spending that just for noise if I can do it cheaper
I have around ÂŁ3000 to spend on bits and pieces and dont wanna blow half of it on exhaust

You need to prioritise.

Make a list of the other bits and bobs and score them according to what you feel they will add to the experience of the car. I can't imagine what would score higher than an exhaust considering what you've already done... :)

Ha ha,
Trust me, look on my office desk, my desk at home and my internet searches home and at work all you see is Mustang related searches and notes of costs etc.

Front splitter is a must because I want the front a little lower (to match the side splitters) and exhaust note comes second but I only want to spend what I need to to get the sound I want.

I have to say I much prefer the sound of the H-Pipe to the X-Pipe. I keep flipping between different cat-backs but I will probably just get an H-pipe and use that to start with. I don't mind cutting the original exhaust either so it will be much cheaper.

The main question now is whether stainless is worth it or not..

CJPP have aluminised steel H-Pipe for $84 and the stainless is $240. I know I should go SS but at that cost saving can I justify it? Biggest problem will be shipping as its going to be heavy but cheap so if spending a lot on postage, what else to buy...

TBH I would also go with a full exhaust system if you are still looking to bolt on axle backs as well. May be I am wrong to say that if I actually look in to the cost differences.

She is not bad looking at all lol.

not sure I like as it sounds a little tinny if that's the right word to use.....

Stock mufflers with FRPP X-Pipe - [ame]

Although I still can't stop listening to this complete frpp borla sport exhaust kit

Not sure my insurance company will like me adding on an exhaust though as in them allowing me to add it

I loved the Corsa touring Axle backs but for the price couldn't justify them ($1800 landed in oz). Listening back to back on American muscle.com to the SLP loudmouth2's sounded very similar in note, deepness, overall volume and no drone for $800 landed in Oz. cheap really and if I want more volume I can delete my suitcase or go headers.

Well guys, you have been very helpful!
I started this thread as I was unsure which Axle Back to get. I had about 3 options.
Now I cant decide between
Cat Backs
Axle Backs
H pipe
X pipe
H pipe and axle back
X pipe and axle back

I now have a 20 options

Its been really useful:headbonk:

I think cat back is better in the long run. Depend on what you later in life plans on. If more power you will be better off with the cat back.

Don't all your other options mean cutting your stock exhaust? If you want to sell up one day it will be easier whipping off the cat back and swapping for the stock instead of welding bits of exhaust back together.

The best thing is that you have all these options. Some more expensive than others.

I am pretty sure I wont be selling it. If I do they can take it or leave it with whatever is fitted.
