So I noticed today that regardless of the MPGs my car is getting the Miles to E never adjusts, it just keeps going down each mile I drive. I tested this at a couple different fill ups. If my avg MPG is at 21 when I fill up the miles to E starts out at about 300 miles. If its at 18 avg it starts at about 250 miles to E. Then if I go on a long drive and my avg MPG jumps up from the 18 to 23 the Miles to E continues to count down from the original 250 miles. My other cars adjust that as you drive over time. Anybody else notice this? It should be fairly simple for the car to adjust real time.

Honestly, never cared for it.
I usually leave my screen on ATF temperature mode so I know the transmission is not still cold when I drive the car hard.

here is how it works. The miles to empty is always factored on your last 20 miles of driving.

you could have a 24 mpg average for the current tank. but if you just did 5 1/4 runs and are at 15 mpg for the last gallon of gas, your DTE will low. If you just got done with a long highway cruise at 55mph, your DTE will be very high.

What GoGlue said makes sense, but, I just last week saw what you saw..I had to bring my Eco in for the heat shield recall and it was preferred to have the tank close to empty. So, the ensure the tech had no reason to be upset- starting out- I ran the car close to Empty- I watched, and every mile I drove, the read out dropped the same- Miles To Empty.
