So i have a 2016 convertible with the shaker system but no sub in the trunk. 2 of my speakers are starting to go bad and I'm looking to replace/upgrade.

What can I do to make the sound better and more importantly, louder without changing the head unit?

(Mechanically inclined so I'd be willing to diy the install. It's my first time doing anything audio related so any info helps)

No need to use a LOC when you have a shaker system (doesn't matter if sub or no sub).
There are way better integration possibilities with idatalink Maestro AR and RF DSR1.
Even a T-harness behind the radio would be way better than a LOC as you have a perfectly fine variable line output signal behind the radio.

Or, you just get the HRN-AR-FO3 harness from idatalink and use it as a base for an integration harness at the OEM amp plugs. Again, there you can get a perfectly fine variable line output signal.

Get the Pac Audio, get the optional TOSLINK adapter, get a Amp with a TOSLINK connector. Good to go.

PAC does not make a AMP PRO for the 2016 model. That was the first thing I checked when I got my 2017. I had one on my last vehicle and it was great.

Ah. I had to to PAC AUDIO on my 2021 as the brand I used on my 2015 Vette doesn't work.
