I'm planning on some additions this fall, including a GT350 manifold, supporting mods, and possibly cams. Ideally, I would like my car to be solid to 8,000 RPM, if possible. I am planning on doing oil pump gears, crankshaft sprocket, and balancer. I've been looking at the ATI balancer due mostly to positive feedback on this forum. My question is this: do I go with the part #918047 which has the steel hub, or #918047A which has the aluminum hub? My car will remain N/A, and as it does see the occasional track day, I'm concerned about high RPMs.

Also, is there anything else that would be needed to "reliably" spin to 8,000 RPM? I know peak power with the GT350 manifold is much earlier, but depending on which cams I may go with, peak power might shift a little, and I want to be as safe as possible to 8,000.

Thanks in advance for the help!

If shooting for 8,000 you might look into the rpm pickup ring from mmr. Means pulling the trans, but get a much cleaner reliable signal that high into the revs.
