Went from 51* to -1* in 24 hours here. Wind speeds are low as I need to get the station higher in the air.

Nice, mine is on the roof, brand how long have you had it?

Like knowing what the weather is on my spot on the earth.

Kind of fun

It is fun and informative. I have a Ambient Weather WS-2900D, I installed it just over a year ago. Didn't want to put on roof to avoid it skewing temp readings, its attached to a fence with mount designed for DirecTV satellite dish which puts it to close to bushes and causes wind speed to read low. Looks like you have a Davis Vantage, how you like it?

110* difference between yearly low and high temperature!

Very much, living in Miami had a HeathKit station. Moving here in 87 I bought the Davis. The wind direction and speed are mounted on a mast attached to the bathroom vent stack.

Rain, outside temp, solar, IR, & hum, sensors are on a post in the backyard. Need access to the rain sensor, bucket to service, clean it out.

The roof sensors are cabled to this unit. It connects WiFi to the head unit, from there local network to the computer.

Heath kit? Dreamed of many kits back as a kid, so cool. Separating the sensors makes sense, in my case an all-in-one using wifi makes it easy to get in the game. You can see pipe I plan for raising it up.

How much are you planning to extend it? Does it have a rain collector?

Looking at maybe 3-4 feet. It dies have a rain collector that does not need to be emptied. The collector funnels the rain into a small hinged bucket that holds .01 inches of rain before it empties itself and starts over again.

That's the way they all work, it's the inlet that gets clogged with pollen, and leaves.

Here is a funny that pops up when it pours. The Head unit runs a banner across the bottom.

"It's raining cats & dogs"

Got love the easter eggs code writers throw in applications.

Ok, This seems cool, what exactly is/are these?
Thanks

Not sure I understand the question if referring to the term "easter eggs".

It's a silly message like "Raining cats & & dogs" as the rain becomes a downpour. That the Tin Foil hats write into the code of an application or software.

Often are found here and there, the IT name for them is easter eggs.
