Anyone know about the 4G94?

A guy I work with has a Mitsubishi lancer, 5 speed with this motor. I used to be fairly knowledgeable about the DSM cars and the 4G63 so I'm feeling like his claims are total BS but I get the feeling he doesn't really know too much and isn't intentionally lying.

He's built the shortblock with forged Pistons and various other bits, but still has the single cam head. It has some small turbo on it and a tiny intercooler, but he has ID1500X injectors and an aftermarket stand alone ECU. He's doing a slightly bigger turbo around the size of a GT35R and is claiming the car will go 7s like that and he's supposedly seen a ton of guys in other places doing it.

I can't really make heads or tails of what he's saying because as far as I know the stock transmission can only handle about 250hp and I can't see a SOHC 4 cyl ever flowing enough air to make the power to get into the single digits let alone deep into the 7s.

He seems to genuinely think this is all true so I didn't really want to call him out on it as he is a good buddy of mine otherwise without finding more info, but Google searching doesn't really turn up anything about it. Anyone have a clue?

This might run 8s if it can put the power down. Look at the mod list.

Dude is lying. That turbo maxes out around 650 on evos. That's assuming everything else in the motor can take it, which basically means everything else would need to be swapped.

Yeah I know generally what the Evo is capable of and this motor isn't the same besides being a 2.0L it has a single cam and much lower flow head. I can't find any confirmed cases of it making more than 200-220 whp. He says he breaks transmissions regularly, the car is stripped completely so it's probably fairly light but I'm just not seeing it making the power numbers he claims especially with that size turbo.
