I don't have to get on the phone much in the R, but when the hospital pages, there's no wait.

I am on the phone everyday in my R. I commute to work in it. Headphones go in my ear. I get in the car. Dial someone. Start it up and talk on my way to the office.

Isn't this normal?
Not for me, not in this lifetime.

Not sure a more enjoyable way to work exists.
If I couldn't find enough enjoyment just driving the car - especially something along the lines of a GT350R - I'd be seriously questioning my decision to have bought it in the first place.

On a different level, I can't decide if actively choosing to remain "connected" while driving is a fear of finding yourself alone with just your own thoughts or punishment in advance so you won't have them.

.

I think your taking him wrong. I think he needs to make the calls for work. He's saying if you gotta be on the phone for work, doing it in the R makes it better. At least that's what I got out of it....

Why explain?... Norm obviously is telling us all how we should drive our cars. Let's all listen... we just might learn something.

The last thing I want to do while driving is talk on the phone... If I'm in the GT350 I usually don't answer and call back once I'm home. Unless it's the wife of course  But even in sport if I roll the windows up I have no problems

It's really easy once you think of your time behind the wheel as "me time". There is value in giving yourself a little "time off the grid" beyond the elimination of whatever somebody else wants as a distraction while driving.

Shouldn't be hard to do in a GT350 to just enjoy the drive . . .

Norm
Should be easy, but not an option in my case. Lucky, however. So far, bluetooth (phone) and exhaust have not clashed...

I like the flappers. I keep it in quiet mode until I get out of my neighborhood and then tap the mode button twice. Takes 1 second not 10.

Dear Norm,

It brings us great pleasure that there exists one person who lives such a care-free life, liberated from the albatross of technology, free from the pressures of a life spent multi-tasking. We collectively applaud you, and in some small way, probably envy you.

But given your progressive, forward-thinking enlightenment, it is confusing why you would devote so much energy and effort into passing harsh judgment on us poor lost souls. Is there not yoga to do? Kant to read? Starbucks to sip? There must be a better outlet, even a better forum, for we are clearly an audience too thick-witted to understand the wisdom you have to offer.

Sincerely,
Everyone Else

This guy gets it.

It does make a stupid amount of noise in the hospital parking garage too, which is a bonus though.
Lol. I bet it does. I only park on the outside away from everyone else.
