Not only I think they look bad but I also don't think they would work on a frameless door because you have to clear the glass when you open the door so it will be likely too high.

I smoke and it's the best place to put the ashes.

So you are one of these assholes that flick ashes and butts all over the road sometime onto my car.
If you gonna smoke in a car, just get an ashtray or something.
