I might get a SLP LM2 axle-back setup for a more aggressive sounding but not obnoxious exhaust. Looks like I just take a reciprocating saw to the curve and then bolt on the LM2 pipe/mufflers.

After removing the stock exhaust, is there any use for or value to it? If I put it on CL or the marketplace here...is there any kind of demand for them?

I'm guessing other GT owners wouldn't want them but maybe other owners of different makes/models have a use for them.

Thanks

Not really worth anything. People give them away. Some V6 guys have used them for a deeper tone but other than that most just chuck em out. I pulled the whole stock cat back off for my Corsa Extreme cat back. I might do long tubes and put my stock exhaust back on b/c it will probably be too loud with extremes.

Nice part about leaving stock exhaust intact without cutting up it comes out and goes back in 1 piece. Bad if you don't have a place to keep it if you want to save it. I keep mine in the back yard behind the shed.

Ok, so they're essentially garbage once they come off.

Another question. When I do go with a turbo/super charger... is an SLP LM2 going to be a good exhaust to keep or are others preferable at that point?

Thanks

You'll be fine. You're over thinking it - it's just exhaust. People run stock mufflers with 700+hp and no issues.

Only real value is for returning to stock when selling or trading the car. You generally don't get much credit for and aftermarket exhaust with the dealer so putting the OEM exhaust back lets you get some money back selling the aftermarket. Bad part about the OEM is the size and finding somewhere to store it.

Almost sold mine after I installed my ATAK catback. Installed long tubes about a year later and the Borlas were way too loud. Reinstalled factory catback and I'm happy as can be with the sound. Ended up selling the ATAK. There's one reason to keep it around.
