I rang my local dealer near Sydney with a price for a GT $2000 under the Ford price. This price was quoted to me by a broker and I just wanted to see if it was a good deal. The dealer called me back an hour later after checking with his boss and they matched the deal without me providing any evidence.
Wonder how much lower they would have gone if pushed?
You can try you luck. But if they won’t drop the price further you can always get them to throw in some free accessories for you. It’s very hard to negotiate for these cars as the dealer true and well knows that it’s in demand. But remember the longer you delay to put an order in the longer it will take to get you wheels. Goodluck

My belief is that they are not really changing the price of the car but reducing the Dealer Delivery rip-off amount.

Did you find another dealer? This one is just trying to play you. I'd not pay a cent more than Ford's listed price for the car and I'm sure you can find a dealer who will charge that.
Not yet. Been busy at work. Will look around again on the weekend. But from what some members has posted sounds very encouraging that I can get one even below what the ford website quoted.:clap2:

Maybe the price isg going up due to the continued high demand??? But if other muscle cars come to australia then competition will lower the price for sure. But since mustang is the only car then ford can dictate the price.

I think it's fair to say that Ford could have easily got away with charging $5K more from the get go, and probably a little more than that. They were just testing the waters.

when they announced it was coming, i was expecting a 70-80k car. i still would have got one. we've been trained to expect to get gouged here i suppose.

Probably no lower. They are just taking a hit on their dealer delivery which is the only thing they can negotiate with.
