Apparently with the end of the month there is a slew of new owners and I am one!
Thanks to Ellas1 for the local lead at MSRP, I think I could of waited and gotten a better deal but I am happy with it. I ordered at 2017 at msrp from a dealer 400 miles away, but the car as I configured it was 3500 more, and I had no real guarantee that when it came they would honor their price, this seem to be a common practice with out of state customers to say one thing to them on the phone and another when they came in person. So I bought local and have a dealer I can yell at if necessary!
Buying process was easy. I called the lead told him I wanted the car, he sent me the VIN and a sales order with the numbers on it. I called my credit union and 3 days later I went to the dealer check in hand. They were asking 77K for the car and I checked and they got it early April.
I have race red with black stripes track package, ill post pictures if it ever stops raining.
Initial impressions(Keep in mind I live in New York City) and Ill try to answer some questions I saw on the board.
Engine/drive-train
I LOVE the sound its like porn, engine revs very easily
As other have said the car has a lot of vibration
I have not revved over 4500 and if driving lazily I can be in 5th by 45 mph. There is not a huge amount of torque down low. I daily drive a TB SS(LS2) so that is its comparison.
It has enough tq that it doesn't stall and you do not have to downshift if you really do not want too(except in 6th).
Shifter is notchy I haven't learned the rhythm of the car yet so it can take a little effort to get it into some gears (3rd) comes to mind.
At highway speeds that car is quite quiet no drone.
Edit
BIG PLUS you can go into first while moving! No being able to get into first while moving is very annoying
Ride
The car rides firmly but that is to be expected. It actually rides worse then I expected but I guess there is only so much Magneride can do.
The car is low, low enough that being in New York City that scraping on a bad road is possible. I also cant get into the under ground lot of my GYM. Id never put a CF splitter on it. If you daily drive in area with bad roads you will have to consider this.
Steering/Tires
The car has no dead spot and reacts immediately to input, no comments on handling as ive only driven in wet.
Car does wander some probably due to the tires/alignment.
Tires are OK in the rain but not great.
Seats(Recaro)
I am 6' 1" (rounded up:-D) and 235 very muscular with a 36-38 pants. I find the seats comfortable but they require some thought to get in and out of. Still working on a technique I might have to push them back when ever I get out. My back hurts at the moment so that doesn't help.
Radio
4" radio sounds OK to me no worse the ones in my other cars but I am no audiophile. Menus are a tad confusing.
MISC
Car feels fairly large, I dont have a sense of where the front wheels are so if I was trying to cut a corner I couldn't do it yet. That may change with time though
Aesthetically the wheels could be bigger.
Overall I am very happy with the car! Buying a new car (and the debt associated with it) always makes me nervous but that will pass is this is by far the most expensive car I have ever purchased, i think you get a lot for the money though!
Planned mods
Tint 15%
350R style wing (Assuming no holes have to be drilled or filled
350R calipers(on the fence)
Retrofit the tech package radio(on the fence also)
