Are you trying to charge your phone that way?

i get an error, but then playing music through it works just fine. i just plugged it in for the power. otherwise, i just use blue tooth. samsung galaxy S4

my bigger problem is with my iPhone 4S, i make a call on it and it drops the call from the car, but keeps ringing on the phone itself. the 4S is unable to message through SYNC either but, the music plays just fine. Does anyone know if the iPhone 6 improves the calling feature or enables the messaging feature?

For the sake of clarity, yes, i have 2 phones, one is a work phone (galaxy), the other is a personal phone (iPhone).

Wouldnt surprise me if this was a fault of the iPhone not being "compatible" due to Apple being dicks

This happens in all Ford vehicles, not just the Mustang.

When I had my old Android, I would plug it into USB (will still charge through USB) and then stream music via Bluetooth.

Again, this issue is not unique to the Mustang. This happened to me in a Flex, Fusion, Focus, as well as current and previous-gen Mustangs.

The USB connection for the phones is mainly for power. The system will try to read your phone like a USB device and fail. Like S550guy said, you're best bet is to plug in and continue streaming via bluetooth.

Sorry ive been at work. It was kinda both music and power. So i plug my phone in and it plays that dumb over the horizon song and thats it even though i have multiple songs in my library. And power wise i think my battery might be messed up but it shows that its charging and it'll go all the way down to 2% then just stay there.

So yeah i might have to do bluetooth if i figure out its just a phone battery problem and not a connection problem.

Not to be a bearer of bad news, but I don't think it's the car. My roommate has an Galaxy S4 and he can't even charge it with half the usb cables/wall chargers i have in our apartment. It gives an error message when he plugs it in for the power as well if that's what you're seeing.

Maybe try a different cable? But I think it's the actual power output.
