I don't understand how someone can build a business and intentionally let it's reputation go to trash. Clearly there's lots of people interested in it so why not establish a good reputation and make money off it

John Hennessey has managed to do this for years yet somehow retained enough of a good reputation to remain in business. A lot of his customer base are probably men going through a mid-life crisis who have more money than know-how.
