Trying to review my Bama tunes and it flat out wont let me, unless I rate it 5 stars. Shifty to say the least.

Now, I know there has been shit talk about bama tunes, but being from a remote location in Canada and the dollar dictates I can't justify spending $500 after buying a tuner for tunes from another person.

After talking to a sales person I was convinced that the issues I had with my 2012 GT tunes (long story, tunes were really bad) they now offer better tunes, and after datalogging it would be as good as anyone else.

So I bought my tuner, but had yet to install most of my parts and ran a stock with a tune.
My car hesitated, partial throttle it ran like crap, and too end just never moved

Now I installed a gt350 manifold, jlt intake, cat deletes, and the car ran slower then stock?

So again we did a retune, I removed the jlt and went with a stock intake, and the car works a little better but still doesn't move like it should.

So I have sent the data log, and requested that since this was so on going could they do a 2 day rush on my new tune to make a big race weekend here.

Well here we are 5 days later and still no tune.

and before anyone says shouldn't have gone with BAMA, I know!

And maybe buying anything from them will have to stop as there are far too many other options around that ship to Canada.

Here's the message I keep getting

I had the same experience with AM and the MMD rear window louvers. They sent me two different sets, both of which had peeling issues and I sent them back. I tried to leave a review that was tactful since they had great customer service to try to work out the issues, as well as warn other customers what to look for.

It took my review, but never got posted.

No big deal.
I just cost them a wheel and tire package.
Guy came into my shop looking for wheels and he was looking at them on AM, he bought from another place

Food for thought.

I had BAMA tunes on my 2012, it was great. Decided to go with them again for my 2016.

Initially, everything was great. Then I got a revised tune, and the car ran like shit. I figured it was the tune. I worked with BAMA, and they helped me data-log, revised the tune, and it still ran terribly.

Guess what?

It wasn't the tune. The car had a cracked intake manifold at 7500 miles.

The I.M. was replaced, BAMA actually sent me a special sauce custom tune, and now my car runs like a beast. BAMA tried diligently to try and find the issue, but it was never their tune, it was a mechanical issue.

So, I'll go out on a limb and say that your car isn't running poorly because of anything BAMA has done. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that there's something mechanically wrong somewhere, and nothing BAMA does is going to solve it. And BAMA has already gone above and beyond trying to help you.....but all you want to do is shit on their reputation on the internet. Bama owes you nothing except the original tune, but they've worked diligently with you to try and help you......repeatedly.

And all you want to do is bitch and whine about them.

So; don't blame BAMA until you've exhausted every other possibility.

Imagine being in BAMA's shoes; shade tree mechanics that think they're on the set of Fast & Furious tinker with their cars, and then expect them to fix whatever they screw up over the internet with a revised tune, as if the tune was the issue all along.

I don't blame them for not allowing someone to bash them on some internet satisfaction poll.

Bama has been good to me and very helpful. When I installed the pmas intake with the tune required the initial tune they sent me was garbage but I told them and in like 6 hours they sent me new tunes that worked awesome! 3 of them actually instead of the normal 2. 87,91 and 91 race! I mean when I make the comments for the tune I want I do specify that I want it to be realizable and safe. My tune feels good but my friend has a Bama 91 race tune and it’s damn near crazy to drive his car. Maybe it’s because I requested a safe tune?

Tunes can be hard to interpret. I dyno'd my pure stock 2015 GT and got 376/362. Put on Long Tube headers, exhaust cutouts and an Airaid CAI. Then I dyno'd at 402/367. Bought a SCT X4 tuner and had AED do a custom tune from my data log. I now run a slower 1/4 mile than before when I was pure stock.

Obviously I have increased the HP by the Dyno. Problem is now I have reached the point where traction is holding me back. Having more HP is causing more spinning and thus slower times. I know because my upper times 1000 ft has increased but my 0-60 has gotten worse.

Now I've got to work on getting the new HP to the ground.

I'm not into bashing companies, Bama's service and response time is always good, but as far as the product / tune...I thought my Bama tune was great when compared to factory.

Then I went with a Steeda tune and realized it is vastly superior in daily driving (very smooth, whereas the Bama tune had a very spikey boost response and shifted gears under light acceleration way too quickly) and is also faster (shaved .2 secs off 0-60 instantly).

So better than factory, but not better than Steeda.

The Steeda tune has very predictable behavior by comparison, much smoother boost curve too.
