I'm sure Ford wouldn't program the tranny to be able to down shift to a certain gear if it couldn't handle it. Or at least you'd think...

there was a truck driver who over revved the engine by accidentally going into 2nd instead of 4th here.

These are performance cars. The drivetrain is not made of glass. Think about it. Every time someone test drives a new mustang they check the performance and that means punching it a few good times. As long as a person doesn't go nuts during the first 1000 and just hammer the thing constantly, you will be fine. It won't hurt these cars to have some fun in them from day one. Just use common sense.

Once read in Dsports engine building issue that cars that are baby during the break-in period are pigs with oil and stuff. Forget if they said just drive it or drive it hard, but no need to baby it
