I know that this is probably a bizarre question, but it never hurts to ask!
I do a lot of off highway driving on dirt/gravel and it would be nice to have an extra set of tires/wheels that have a taller sidewall and better traction for certain trips. I have done this on an old GTI and my 560, with great results, but the Mustang has proven a little bit more difficult since I can't go down to a 15" or 16" wheel.
I am running stock suspension, and I was looking at getting a set of Motegi MR139s with 225 60 17 tires (27.6"). (Thatās only a .3ā height difference with the 235/50/18s that Iām running) Those look like they would be fine, and TireRack has said that size is a standard replacement for the Mustang, but I was wondering how much bigger you can go!
I would rather run 225 65 17s on the rear, but they look like they will be too tall (28.5"). Any Opinions? What is the max height that I can go without rubbing in the rear?
Thanks in advance for any help!
