I left the fob in the house by accident and pressed against the door handle - but not alarm system buzz. My car is equipped with the security package.

Is there an easy way to test the system? Unlike other systems no LED's flash inside the cabin when armed so not sure if its working at all - and I dont want to break the glass :-)

An option might be to ask my wife to lock the car while I'm inside - the idea behind this being motion in the car might trigger it. Thoughts?

Roll down the windows, arm the system, make sure the fob is well away from the car, then stick your hand inside.

I voiced the same concern recently in another thread. Just tried your suggestion and, sure enough, when I reached in and touched the seat, the alarm went off.

Thanks.

Thanks. I tested it like you said and it works fine.
Additionally, I noticed a red LED that on the door sill next to the window. It seems to glow immediately after arming/locking the car, but not sure if it continues to glow after you move away from the car. Will check and report back.

Also wanted to add - it seems when armed there is an LED on the door sill that glows red (very faint, esp through the tint). See photo attached.

That just means the door is locked.
