Preloading your drivetrain before you let it rip. It cuts down the shock loading transfer
When you do this are you using the e brake to hold the car? Otherwise your gonna roll past the beams... Wondering if using the line lock would also work to preload the suspension, then as soon as you launch release the line lock from holding the brakes.

Nope, no ebrake. It just takes practice so you dont. If youre actually rolling youre too engaged. Just has to be enough you feel the tug on the diff.

So if the plan is to run 17in bias ply tires for the strip, on a manual tranny, would it be better to stick with the factory driveshaft? I'm only running bolt ons. My plan was to order a Dynotech driveshaft with a BMR driveshaft loop.

Suspension work consists of Steeda IRS bushings and alignment dowels, Steeda diff bushings, FRPP springs, UPR vertical links, Steeda IRS subframe braces, BMR sway bars and BMR front chassis brace. FRPP Halfshafts to be added before next visit to the track.
I wouldn't recommend Dynotech, I am in the process of trying to get mine fixed and their customer service is horrible. It took a month for them to respond, Now I have to ship it out and have them "inspect" it even though I sent a bunch of pictures and detailed explanation of the problem. :tsk: :(

Do you mind me asking what was wrong with it? Seems like there are issues with every brand...

I emailed PST and got no response about measurements and if they have a shaft for the S550.

A Go Pro mounted under the car would probably provide some valuable information. Unfortunately driveshafts are one of those unglamorous parts
often overlooked.

When I built my Fox bodied racer, I went with an aluminum Mark Williams driveshaft. $900 was a hard pill to swallow, but had over 500 runs without a whimper. I would give them a call and see if they are set up to build one for the new Mustang. Sending them a stocker for the end design would be a start. None better IMHO.

31x14 tire, auto leaving the line at 5500 off the brake.
Apples to oranges comparison I know.
Hopefully Hoosier will come to the rescue with a bias ply DOT 17 in. tire very soon.

Has anyone broken an aftermarket shaft with an auto at the elevated power levels you guys are discussing? I have not heard of one myself.

I had the DS installed exactly a month before i started getting a really bad rattling, mind you i drove it for over 500 miles no problem. If it wasnt installed right, then it should have happened right away (I took it to a a shop i have known for years to get it installed and have never had an issue.) Turns out, on the rear pinion flange, one of the locating pins started to bang against the slot it goes into and turned the circle into an oval. All other wholes were perfectly fine. Aggravating, when you spend almost 900 on a part that suppose to be "stronger" and this happens. :tsk: :tsk:

So after reading all these stories, I'm kinda wondering if I should even bother with an aftermarket shaft? Seems they are just as weak if you have a manual tranny. Or is it only the big power Fi guys having the issues. Am I looking at this wrong?
