Well keep in mind the B&P back then still had the ESP, which was $357. The difference in your ADV was only about $240 so it makes sense that it's still cheaper. Guess it's not the end of the world
Well the difference between what is on my invoice ($45983.55) and what X-Plan on www.fordpartner.com says the price is today ($45943) is $40.55. So the 1.63% still doesn't work for my pricing.

I seriously doubt my dealer would risk me giving him a terrible review to Ford to make an extra $40.55, especially since they advertise that they are President's Award winners every year.

The mystery continues. My car is scheduled to build the week of January 5th, 2015, maybe I'll head down there next week and see what they have to say before it comes in.

From the various advertisement fees given by forum members when supposedly using X-Plan, it is apparent that some dealer's computer systems are not calculating the fee correctly.

The X-Plan documents from Ford clearly state that adv. fees are pegged at 1.63%.
So if you are using X-Plan, bring a calculator, to double check the fee the dealer is coming up with. I have been told that Ford does not look kindly on dealers who fudge Ford Plans.
I have read through all the official Ford X-Plan information I can find online and I cannot find anywhere that states the Advertising Fee is pegged at 1.63%

If you could post the documentation that states my X-Plan order should have it's Advertising fee pegged at 1.63%, I would most certainly be grateful as it would save me some cash.

If this is an Advertising fee that all cars are charged, why would it be locked at 1.63% for the entire country? I live in the New York City market and it certainly is more expensive to buy advertising here then it is to buy it in Lincoln, NE for example.

With the other advertising fees besides mine that have been posted and have been different from the 1.63% it certainly makes sense that this is a regional fee, and not dealerships manipulating the Advertising fee prices to get more profit. Especially the original one posted here, as that was a Long Island, NY car and would also be New York City region.

I've never seen documentation for the ADV calculation. I've only seen it on mult cars before but that was back in the summer. X-plan is X-plan no matter where you are in the country, from my understanding. I've only seen some differences in rebates by region. Even the destination charge is the same, whether it's going to Detroit or Hawaii.

Question to OP: Has your car been scheduled yet? If it has the dealer should have an invoice. If you are doing x-plan they need to provide you a copy of that invoice. If you special ordered a car the price should be fixed to what it was when ordered.

I actually bought off the lot. It was one option away from what I wanted, but I was hitting a brick wall with ordering. I had tried 5 different dealers and none would order unless I paid MSRP. I heard things like "its not worth it to waist a order".

Its a different world in NY vs Texas, they dealerships are smaller so I think they have to make more profit per car.

I have my invoice but it wasn't a order invoice. What are you looking for?

I still don't get what was going on with your ADV fee.

I do see that the base price of GT Premium Convertibles have gone up, even on the X-plan B&P today it is $183 more than it was when I did it back when I ordered my car. It used to be $39,173 for X-plan base price before options & destination, and now it is $39,356. I'm not sure if the invoice price went up or if they just raised the ADV fee, but it would seems it would be the former, since all the options are still the same cost as before (each option on the X-plan B&P was/is a few bucks more than invoice, since each option had to figure in the additional 1.63% ADV fee).

Just wanted to let everyone who helped know, that I got my mustang today! I went X-Plan with EAA and 750 EAA Rebate. My wife can't stop talking about the light pony's from the side mirrors :) Anyways I probably wouldn't of gotten the car/deal I wanted without this forum, so thank you all who commented.

Congrats!

Sure, if you want to try and figure it out that would be great. Here is my vehicle summary. Not shown in the image below but on my window sticker is the 3.55 axle.

I understand that truecar isn't the same a X-plan, but the pricing in my area is really close. Most dealers here that are truecar sell at invoice due to the massive amount of competition in my area. That's the reason I was using the pricing, to try and figure out why my Advertising fee was higher than others.

When I ordered my car, I went into the dealer with the X-plan printout pricing from www.fordpartner.com and handed it to them. They actually came back with a lower price because my printout pricing was old and still had the Enhanced Security Package in it as an option, but now it is standard equipment so the price was backed out.

Here is what X-plan pricing is listed for me today, as I just ran it again.

$45932

On my window sticker it says 13-1117 O/T X SPECIAL ORDER, which I believe is my order number and then Order Type X-Plan.

Any insights into this is greatly appreciated.
Also, I built my car using your zip code and got the same price I got when I put in my zip code, so I don't see how the ADV fee could be any different. I did the same with building your car too, and they turned out the same $45,932. I haven't seen my paperwork yet, but I expect the pricing to be close to what the older worksheets show, since I ordered before the price increase (and my window sticker shows the MSRP before the price jump).

My ADV fee should only be around $724, and yours should be a bit lower than that. According to my old worksheets, and as long as you ordered before the price jump, your worksheet will look like the below worksheet. As you can see, the Invoice calculation came out exactly right when compared to the the X-plan B&P column, which was all the values I recorded on the X-plan B&P back in October time-frame.

I am not sure how MSRP and Invoice are calculated any more. In late November, my dealer listed a EcoBoost Prem Convertible (P8U) as 35,495/31,158. Dec 15, he listed 34,670/31,983. The MSRP had dropped by $800 but the Invoice price jumped by about the same amount. These numbers were generated by his Vehicle Order Confirmation spreadsheet. The difference in MSRP vs Invoice dropped by $1,650.

So Ford increased the price differential on the P8U by nearly $1,700 for the X-Plan.

The Adv Fee still was still in the 1.6% range...$640-690.

Very strange...I guess they can mess with the Invoice/MSRP individually but wouldn't that piss dealers off? Their profits would be lower, at least on MSRP sales.

I'm a newbie at this so this is where I'm coming from.If any of you bought your car on the X-Plan ( which I'm using also ), may I ask what kind of form did the dealer use. Their own regular sales form or the form that is on the X-Plan site. My car is due next week and I was at the dealer Wed to do the preliminary paperwork. My dealer is using their own form, but I suspect they are trying weasel a few more dollars out of me.
1. They crossed out the Service and Handling* line and replaced it with Empl Purch and the charge is $75.:frusty:

2. They also crossed out the line that says Electronic Filing Fee and replaced it with /ETAG FILE/PTA* and the charge is $129.:frusty:

3. They have the registration fee at $250 but I've checked that out the DMV and the fee is 82.85 statewide regardless where it is bought.:frusty:

Both items have asterisk's and when referenced on the sheet itself it says for cost and profit for cleaning and inspecting and adjusting vehicles and some paperwork.

To me, it's nothing but profit for them. I'm re-reading the rules on the X-Plan to make sure I'm understanding it all. The total of all three is 373.15. I've caught them on several other issues and they were addressed. Everything else is good on the paperwork. I thought documents fees were capped at $100. This forum has been great with everyone sharing their knowledge and experience.:clap2:A thank you in advance for any help or knowledge put forth. :headbang:

This doesn't sound right at all. They have to follow the plan rules. I wouldn't agree to this. They cannot use their own form. If I were you I wouldn't buy my car at this dealership.

Congratlations on the new car, I'm looking to order in February and I live on Long Island too. Which dealer did you get yours from? I live near hempstead ford and was thinking of going there.
