I recently placed an order for a mustang I have never ordered a car before and don’t know much about the process or what to expect and had a question come up regarding working with the dealership. I wanted to see what other people’s experiences are when adding an option after they order if its normal to get something from the dealer stating the changes? And if so if its just a verbal confirmation/email/text from someone at the dealership or do I need an updated order summary/order preview document that includes the different options listed out with price, order number, etc.? Thanks!

thank you for the reply. i had emailed them a few weeks ago and asked that the options be changed and they told me it had been added and i asked for the updated order form (i'm assuming that's what the dora would be) and they haven't gotten it to me. its been a couple weeks and i've asked quite a few times. More what im wanting to know is if it is something i need (or even need to re-sign) and should keep asking after or should i just drop it since i go the email where they told me they added it.

Technically you don't need to sign anything again so long as they changed it in their system. I'd feel a lot better if they gave me a print out of the order.

I made a change to my order as it was originally built using 2021 and was updated with 2022 package into. My dealer made the change and sent me a copy of the updated DORA. That way I knew the order is exactly the way I wanted it

My salesman got it from their person who submits their orders (and can check) and he texted it to me.
