Add Nav to Sync 3 2016 Car

I see a lot of threads on here about people with 2015 Sync 2 cars wanting to add navigation, or upgrade to Sync 3.

But does anyone know the process to add Navigation to a 2016 Premium car with Sync 3 already? I can just wait for Android Auto to be released to get Nav, but figured I would see what's involved.

Would it be the same as a Sync 2 car, need an entire new APIM with Nav enabled? Was hoping maybe Sync 3 was a bit easier than that.

No.. You have to replace the sync module.. I have tons of effort into this and am one of the people that add nav to the MFT SYSTEMS.. You would have a lot invested in it.. About 1500$ right now as the prices are high

I could probably recoup some of that though by selling my old Sync 3 module once replaced though? I assume Sync 3 modules would be in high demand.

Just wait for the Apple Carplay update and use your phone's map app.

Some what.. I can give SOME credit.. the issue is no one wants just the module.. as you need a screen also.. you have an easy time selling a nav sync 3 alone because its a potential upgrade for someone.. but a non nav.. essentially still needs more parts to be able to use it..

You can go to SYNC 3 now.. but it requires a whole new touchscreen and Sync Module. There is not going to be an update for those that have Sync 2 or MFT to get Sync 3
