Aarghhh I can't bear it anymore

My car has been in the UK since 19th Dec and no news since.

I am going nuts

I was in the shower just now and I heard my mobile going off. Who'd ring me today, I thought, then it hit me!!!

It's my dealer, the car has turned up and it can be ready by tomorrow. I've got the kids at the mo' but we can get the train there and see if someone from the dealer will pick us up.

I can spend tomorrow driving them around then dropping them off at their mum's in the evening.

New Year's eve I'm working late, a long drive so I can have a blast and show it to my car loving workmates.

New Year's day, a whole day to go hooning.

I hurriedly got dried and went to check my phone.

It was a missed call.......

Karen has informed my mine has already cleared customs at Zeebrugge which is damn quick, one day turn around. It shall be collected on the 4th and sail to Southhampton so looking good for 2nd week of January.

Don't worry mate, you will have your car soon and as soon as you see it all the frustration will go away meanwhile mine will still be with me for another 5 months. It must be the worst possible time for your car to arrive in the UK when everywhere is shut down for Christmas.

Surely if you were to be called today to say it's ready for pickup tomorrow you'd wait it out till 1st Jan so you got it registered as a 2016? Few extra days?

Karen informed me it will get collected by another vessel on the 4th of January at which point it sails for Southhampton.

Registered as a 2016 car, rater than a 2015 car, appears 'newer' and for resale can claim it's '2016' pre-reg.

It would still be a 65 plate but it would be registered in 2016 so it should give a bit extra money to the resale value.

Wouldn't worry me a bit. If I was told I could collect my car this week I would. So it may be worth a few extra quid in 3 years time IF I sell it. I would be down the dealers picking it up as soon as possible. Fact is, it would be advertised as a 65 plate which is the bit that really matters.

There would have to be a very good reason for me to wait, May can't come soon enough.

Not bothered as it still will be a 65 plate. If it was a few days before March 2016 then I'd consider just to get the 16 plate.

Not bothered about residuals. The greenest way to keep a car is to actually own it a long time.

Bought my current BMW in 1998 and I still have it as my daily.
