So my car decided it would be a good day to start acting up. It's making a supercharger like whine that gets louder as the rpms increase. Same exact noise as this video

Of course this happens outside of warranty and I'm looking at the cost of a new A/C compressor, but can't make sense of the part number I need.

Fordparts.com shows the compressor at $1124.76 (http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/P...search=true&year=2016&make=Ford&model=Mustang)

While Levittown shows the compressor at $199.31 (https://parts.levittownfordparts.co...meT0yMDE2JnQ9Z3QtcHJlbWl1bSZlPTUtMGwtdjgtZ2Fz)

So which one is it and how much do you guys think it will run to get it replaced?

Mine was doing the same thing. Turn the A/C off and whine stops. It sounded like an older car low on power steering fluid. Also driver vents were warm. Passenger vents were cool with both at same thermostat temp. It was the evaporator coil. The leak caused low freon pressure and caused the compressor to whine. Had the evap. coil changed and all is fixed. Under warranty thank God. If you are low on freon it's a leak. They can run a UV dye test to confirm where your leak is or if it is the compressor.

I don't have a temp difference between driver and passenger sides. I'm out of warranty, so i'm praying it isn't the evap coil.
