6rib belt slippage

Has anyone had any issues with the belt slipping on the pro charger 6 rib setup? I have decided to go with the procharger because of the mounting location and I am trying to decide between 6 or 8 rib setup. I like the idea of the 6 rib because it uses the factory tensioner.

Not because of belt slip, but I would recommend the stg 2, because it uses an independent 8-rib belt to drive the blower. It allows you to run the car without the blower if for whatever reason you one day break a belt, you can get the car to where you are going. On the shared 6rib if the belt breaks, you are stuck on the side of the road.

That said I run the 6-rib on my personal car and have no belt slip issue at 711RWHP, 6-rib setup has insane belt wrap. I would recommend running only quality belts like a Gates(Procharger Kit comes with a Gates belt.). I ran a Dayco belt for a few months when switching to a smaller pulley and did have belt slip issues. Swapped back to Gates and problem solved. Just a heads up.

How small did you go on pulley and what number on Gates belt did you run?

I ran the 3.33" and 6rib and had minimal slippage

I went down to a 3.60 pulley with a 105.8 belt from gates. I opted for the HD green belt.

you shouldn't have any issue until your in boost well over what the engine can handle

This is very good info. I'm definitely doing the stage 2 Procharger kit when the time comes.

3.50 pulley on mine and zero problems ..It's Gates belt that came with the procharger .. I do have a extra belt that Procharger sent me free that I keep in the trunk just in case ..But with all the drag racing I do I have seen no wear on the belt and have not had to readjust it after the first 50 break in miles ..

Also note guys, the factory tensioners are not created equal.

So if yours is fine with a smaller pulley, your buddies might not be.

If you are looking to make good power, the STG2 is your best bet for piece of mind.

How do you know that you are not over tightening the belt with the manual tensioner on the stage II?
