6MT won't go into reverse

Got in the car today in my garage, and it would not go into Reverse. Used the shift collar on the six speed manual as normal, moved car forward and back, but could not get it to go into Reverse. Anybody else ran into this? Thanks in advance.

Try putting it into reverse with the engine off.

Had to loosen the shift knob and it allowed the collar to be pulled up far enough to open the shift gate. But then I had to tighten the shift knob. At least I know the problem now. Thanks all.

Wow! I never even thought about this one. Was it a stock knob, or an aftermarket? I noticed how the knob will lock it out when I installed my Speed Dawg knob. One turn too many, and no reverse.

yeap... I have had the shift knob keep the collar from going up. no biggie.
