D&D sells the T56 Magnum kit for the S550. They have all the parts you need, trans, clutch, driveshaft, speedo converter. Pretty easy swap if you have a hoist to work on. I used the one with the close ratio box. It has a much taller first gear and a .5 to one overdrive in 6th. Takes a bit of practice getting easy street starts but once you are used to it it is a much nicer gear box. The drag version would of course be easier to get rolling. The driveshaft has the sliding joint inside the tail shaft this is a far better way of accommodating the needed length change that CV or sliding spline nonsense. Also the shifter is part of the tail shaft so it shifts far better than any shifter including all the after market stuff.

I spoke with d&d today but price comes out to almost double what my motor build will cost.

I'm thinking of just doing 6060 trans from ben calimer. He sells the trans with bell housing and speedo beefed up. Dss sells the drive shaft I would just need to have splines Changed on my rxt, find a good shifter, and I think that's it right?

Please share any thoughts experience advice.

Thank you

Do you all recommend the magnum XL or 6060 Trans? I'm going for 950 to 1000rwhp.

Also what shifter is recommended for the 6060 trans?

Anyone know where to find a cross member for the 6060 trans? Not seeing on ebay/google search.
