Has anyone tried to remove them yet? I want to PlastiDip them black, but don't want to spend hours trying to mask around the angles of those lights. I also don't think the trick of spraying everything and just pulling it off will work well due to said angles.

If you do get them off, i will take em off your hands. Maybe a trade/purchase?

I'm not quite sure that I want to part with them, which is why I plan on using PlastiDip so the black isn't permanent. That said, do the non 50th AP cars have black trim rings instead of chrome, or is the tail light surround a little different?

Just found out from a buddy that works for a Ford dealer that there are 2 different part #s for the real lights. One w/chrome and one w/out. Guess I'm either masking or trading :(

The tail light trim looks amazing on my guard but I'm thinking about plastidipping the chrome grill insert black just to see how it would look, anyone tried that yet?

Maybe try "3M Scotchcal Striping Tape L.G. (Low Gloss) Black" I've used it on many cars over the years, mainly the Chrome around the side windows.

It would take some time but would look better and disappear as opposed to P_D.

Has anyone dug into this further? Are the chrome tail bezels removable? Not looking to start prying at them to find out. I love everything about the 50th package except for the chrome tails. It just looks out of place on my race red GT IMO. I'm also going to plastidip the front chrome on the grille.

I like the chrome trim on the taillights ,I would gladly trade my non chrome trimmed lights for the trimmed out set.

Anyone wanting to trade please pm me .

50th anniversary tails are a separate part number from the non-50th package cars... chrome trim rings are not removable. That plastic chrome trim makes the lights about $300 more than a non chrome light too :eyebulge:

I'm curious about this too. I'd like a blacked out grille and tail lights. And, hello to you in Naples, FL
