Also.. I'm confused. If the badges already use tape to stick on, why did they need to drill too? Shouldn't it be one or the other

Who knows? The ONLY good thing about them being drilled is it makes aligning replacements easier.

I am an old timer and back when I was a teenager (a long-long time ago),
chrome was cool and "still is". I have a GT Premium CO 401A 50 yr pk 3.55
NAV and am keeping all of the chrome that came on my car and even order
two chrome license plate holders from amazon.com. "I may date a Plain Jane
but I will never drive one".

Yea, but the chrome was made of heavy steel back then too! Not plastic.
I miss my real metal chrome or stainless parts.

Is it worth it to do it myself? Plastidip costs around 10-20 here. Then I've never done it before so labor like 30-60 minutes?

Agreed. It's not hard and only takes about an hour or so and most of the time is spent waiting between coats...

For less than $10.00 you can paint the 5.0 + other things your self...Very easy, see for your self how easy this was for my center caps...I could've searched for an aftermarket-->:lol:
