I've pretty much talked myself into the 4.09. I raised the limiter so I wouldn't hit it LOL

6 feet of chain plus oil pump gears.....

When it was stock limit I banged it a few times
I've done it many times. It's usually the big zings that kill you (like a missed shift), not a 75 rpm overrev way past the power peak.

I currently bracket race my 2016 6R80 with basic bolt ons and a 3.55 gear and dyno tune. I'm wanting to go with the 4.09 gears for quicker launch and better E.T. I run 26" nitto drag radials in back and they hook just fine. According to my research these gears with 26" tires should still put me through the 1/4 mile (traps) in 4th gear at around 7200rpm. Anyone have this setup or comments? Maybe the 3.91 gears instead?
