Strictly a strength concern on the rear tie points. (Source: CJponyparts video)

We CAN do an aluminum housing by buying the auto diff housing and stuffing 4.09s in it. It'll be $$$ all said and done. Might be worth looking into

I read an article from the '96 F-150 going to an aluminum diff housing and saving 22lbs. 40 to 18.

The IRS pumpkin being larger would save the same or more weight.
