Before I start ripping everything out, can someone tell me how to remove the trunk/3rd brake light from a vert???:)

I had the deck lid panel off yesterday for another reason and I didn't notice anything under the panel. So I am suspecting I have to remove the carpeting under the top portion of the trunk to get at it?????

you have to remove the inner panel by unscrewing the two rubber bumpers. Popping off the latch cover then remove the push pins. There will be an opening where you can access the camera and connector for the light. You should see three bolts on the back of the light. one in the Middle under the Camera connection and two on each end accessible through individual holes to the left and right of the large opening. It looks like you have to remove them to remove the clips that hold the light in. I tried squeezing the clips, but they would not fit through the opening. Good Luck

Didn't get a chance today. Gonna give it a go tomoro.
Your info was great. By the latch cover is a pain in the ass. I removed one of the clips from the back and still can't get that side of the light out. I think there is sealant keeping the light in. Makes sense to me, otherwise the trunk would be full of water. I am thinking the light comes with a sealant on it. And when pushed into the hole it seals. The clips are probably just there to hold the light until the sealant properly sets up.

Here is a pic of the passenger side of the light with the clip removed

Interesting. I could move mine on the drivers side just could not get it pas the clips. I wasn't wanting to take it off so I did not remove them, but that side seemed to be looser that the passengers.

Oh, I could move the light. But it just wouldn't break away from the trunk panel. So I am thinking there is some sort of a "sticky" gasket under the light.
