Ive got 3.73's on my Roush Charged S550 Mustang
been told that dropping the gear down would give a HUGE boost in performance?

Anyone have information on this?

Thanks!

From what I read, the 3.73 is great for the non-blower because it can keep within the power band. I have the 3.31 and first gear is still non existent. As for a huge boost of power, it certainly feels like it and I am able to keep in gear longer. Not sure if its a huge boost, but it does help with shifting.

I had 3.73s with my whipple and I had to turn the boost down a lot in first gear. I replaced the gears with 3.31s and it was well worth it. I liked the 3.73s when it was N/A but with boost they were a waste imo.

my car came with 3.55, i cant imagine the difference between 3.55 and 3.31 would be worth a change would it?

It depends on what you with it. For me, 3.31 is great for spirited driving around my area with the exception of 1st gear.

I personally wouldn't spend the time and/or money to go from 3.55 to 3.31 unless I was going to put a torsion diff in while I was in there.

So is "Wheel Spin" the only negitive of having 3.73 gear?

My car has a Huge 17in Mickey ET R on the rear and it does the job for wheel spin.

If your dragging the car, you may need to shift into 5th
