I have Roush Quicksilver 20x9.5s that need new shoes. I want to go square, so I'm debating between 275s and 285s. Any issues running 285s on 9.5s or up front on a PP EBM with Steeda springs?

Tires up for consideration are RE760, S04, Sport Comp2 - mixed street and track, but lots of daily driving. The wheels came with cooper RS3s, 255/275, and the 275 in the rear provided NO protection from curb rash, so I was thinking 285 for a little security, unless one of those tires in 275 has a bit of built in protection like the stock PZeros do on PP wheels.

ETA - Sizes I'm looking at based on trying to keep the OD as close to stock as possible: 275/35R20 vs 285/30R20

Hey

So for the tire sizes I would do the two following

275/35/20 or easily you can do a 285/35/20

I would not do a 30 profile its a bit to thing IMO and a 35 profile will fill the car better, plus more additional wheel protection.

The S04 has always been a good tire for on and off the track, and pricing is super reasonable.

The S04 comes in a 275/35/20

For a 285/35/20

Hmm, 285/35 opens up more options but man they're a lot more expensive than the 30s. If I stay 275, continental dw become an option, too. Will there be enough wheel protection? All of them are an upgrade for me as I tracked on the 255 pzero tires last season.

True but also we have to consider your tracking so it cant just be any tire.

No that being said a 275/35/20 on a 9.5 is a perfectly fine tire so you can rest assured you can utilize it without any issues what so ever. Youll have enough wheel protection on a 275.

I commonly use 275 width tires on my members 9 & 9.5 width wheels no issues.

the Conti DW is a damn good choice and similar price range as the S04 as well.

275/35 all around and don't bash your wheels into a curb:headbonk: The 285's in a 35 series just look too tall imo.
