I'm going to a 19x10 square wheel on my GTPP. the p zeros on the rear of my car are trash but the front are still really nice shape. I intend to run 285/35 square on all 4 corners but I'm considering just reusing the 255/40 on the front until the wear out since I'm cheap. Will a 255/40 fit on a 19x10 without looking really stupid? I also know a 255/40 is slightly taller than a 285/35. It would be weird to have a taller tire on the front, but maybe it would stretch out more and flatten out a bit on a wider wheel?

I don't intend this to be a permanent solution, it just seems that if I could get some more life out of the 255s before trashing them it would be silly not to.

Thoughts?

It will look mildly stupid.
Your rim edge will be totally exposed and you will be running a bit of a stretch.
I have 275's square on a 10" and is just flush with the wheel edge.
Bite the bullet and get 285 all around.
Sell the 255's
And, the Pzero blows.

The difference in diameter between a 255/40R19 and a 285/35R19 is negligible, particularly if your 255s are used and thus a little smaller. It will look very stretched and I'd recommend against it, but it isn't unsafe or anything.

I'm going to have the original wheels broken down to remove the TPMS so it won't be much extra effort to mount a 255 on the x10 wheel just to see what it looks like. Knowing me I'll probably decide at that point that it's too goofy looking and go ahead and get all 4 tires in 285 but I think it'll be worth a shot. Tough to tell what it will look like from pics, probably one of those things I'll just have to see in person. Thanks for the input.
