Washed the car yesterday during a break in the rain. Then I decided to vacuum. took off my $250 Georgio Armani sunglasses, (which I actually bought in Italy 2 yrs. ago) and tossed them onto the drivers seat. Dumb move I know. Finished vacuuming, and hopped back in the car to put it under the carport to do the windows. I heard the "crunch", and did not know what it was at first. I reached under my butt to retrieve whatever it was, and pulled out a mangled mess with both lenses popped out, bent beyond repair I am pretty sure. and one screw from the ear piece popped out. I tried to straighten them out, but that only made it worse.
Don't you hate when that happens?

My girl friend dove off my boat in 20 ft of water wearing her $850 designer sun glasses. I couldn't find them even after an hour of scuba searching. The previous year, a friend dropped his Rolex watch in nearly the same spot.

Sounds like a good spot for some treasure hunting.

My prescription sunglasses cost me about $700, give or take $25. Not even "designer", just some Chinese made frames with some popular name stamped on them, polarized, coated, Progressive bifocals, bla, bla, bla....
But being able to see with my sucky eyesight, priceless! FWIW, I even got a "prescription" for window tinting and my pre-tax money plus will reimburse me the cost of tinting and I can go darker than legal for night glare from headlights from behind.

I always wear cheap sunglasses when mowing the lawn or any activity that could break them. I bought a pair of oakleys about 8 years ago and have yet to break.

yep, I know what you mean pal. I have prescription progressive bifocals, with auto tinting that cost around $500 with the frames. but I wear prog
ressive contact lenses during the day. Funny how the prescription glasses don't shield the sunlight as well as the sunglasses do, even though they seem to "tint" quite a bit.
But my point is....They sure do stick it to you when you buy prescription glasses and frames don't they?

I've had that happen before same situation went to Italy bought a pair of Armani's and ended up smashing them a couple years later. No doubt they are cool stylish sunglasses but they're way to fragile and it's impossible to buy replacement parts. I've since gone to Ray Ban and the pair I have now have been sat on stepped on and what not and are still pulling strong. I highly recommend Ray Ban good style good price and durable for people who live in the real world.

That sucks the BIG ONE. Try Maui Jim's, lifetime warranty. It even covers stupidity. Not judging :) we all do dumb things.

Took me 2 lessons before learning the 'never put your glasses on a seat, bed or floor' rule.

Expendable $5 sunglasses are the way to go.
