I'm hoping that a fellow forum member can offer some help. I have a 2022 Ecoboost premium convertible on order. The order was confirmed by Ford on 1/13/2022 and has a priority code of 12. I'm not sure if "12" is a high or low priority code. If it's low, what's the best way of getting it changed to a higher priority? Lastly, like everyone on this thread, I'm anxious to get my new baby and am wonndering what is a realistic expectation for delivery?
What’s a priority number? When you do a custom order from Ford each order is given a priority number. The lower the number means the sooner it will get built. Retail orders will generally be given a code from 10-19, store inventory cars will be given a 20-89 number. Regional managers have the ability to give orders numbers 1-9. ( Reference sticky thread: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/mustang-buying-basics-cotus-guide.16942/ )

You can try talking with your Dealer/Salesperson to inquire if it is possible to change your order priority number.

Who can actually get this number?
I asked the dealer, the repurchase coordinator who upgraded my priority, and the Ford Performance support guy who checked my build status. Nobody seems to know where to look for it.

Gotcha. yeah I have that too with a 19, but, the RAV person supposedly expedited, so I'm incredibly curious if I'm now in the 1-9 range

It is common for custom orders, like the ones we make for the cars we want via our dealer, to get the initial assignment of 19 as the Priority Number. I believe 19 is the default setting, and when they print that sheet (known as a DORA sheet -- Dealer ORder Acknowledgement Sheet), almost all the ones I've seen have 19 for the Priority Number.

What is interesting is how that number changes after the order is submitted to Ford from your dealer. When I made my order, it also started at 19, but the moment the Ford system took it in (I was at the dealership with the guy hitting the order submit button, in the system known as WBDO - Ford's Web Based Dealer Order system), that 19 number instantly changed to 10. Something in Ford's order acknowledgement system was able to convert the number, but I have no idea what the "rules" are in the system for how those changes are calculated. Anyway, 10 is the best most of get for our custom orders, so I was happy for that.

As for getting a Priority Number of 1 to 9.... hmmm... I believe that is a rare situation, and I am unsure what conditions can grant that. I've read and been told it needs higher level management review or approval, perhaps at or above the Ford Fleet Manager or Ford Regional Level (implying it is beyond what a single dealer can assign...?). As for the order situations or conditions that grant a 1 to 9 Priority Number, I can only imagine. Maybe getting cars ahead on the Production line that need to be somewhere faster? Maybe Hollywood's Vin Diesel sending in an order and he needs a few GT500s pronto for his current Fast and Furious movie set filming? Who knows?

Ask your salesperson to print the form I sent you and you'll know immediately. Obviously, I'm curious, so if it works let me know how to contact the RAV(??) person. Gotta love the power of the internet :)

I understand a lot of regional priorities are things like transit damage, order mistakes, etc. its not as glamorous, but shit happens.

I THINK I fall under the "rare situation" category since I'm in buyback since last summer, they're itching to get my swap closed out. ( @mcgrandpa that's the RAV person who expedited the order, no secret handshakes, sorry lol).

Guess I'll have a better feeling for it once I get my build date relative to others who ordered the same time as me.

Understand. Somebody at Ford should definitely step up in your case.

Aw shucks... I'm guessing that means they also won't be adding build dates to the future schedule until they come back right? If so that will put at 10 weeks since order without getting a build date…

I ordered mine on 15-Nov. I still don't have a build date yet. With the plant shut down for 3 weeks, and I'm thinking April or May now. We'll see...
