Anybody tried taking off their 2018 PP1 spoiler and painting it? I spoke with my vinyl/detail guy and he said he could try wrapping it but there's little likelihood of them being able to do a decent wrap job on that spoiler and he didn't want to see me waste money on it.

I was hoping to have it match the satin black stripes I'm putting on the car. The spoiler is flat on top but the rest of it has a bunch of nooks and crevices. I'm assuming I'd need to sand the whole thing down to the base, then primer/paint/clear-coat it?

Curious if anybody has done or attempted this and what their process/results were.

I’m also wanting to paint my PP1 spoiler black. I have Oxford White now.

Any updates on this?

Guy the family and I use for car stuff wants 200 to paint it. Since it's not a gloss color it takes multiple additives to get it to look correct with matte/satin colors. He gave me some hints on wrapping it so I'm going to try it myself this weekend since it's much cheaper as a DIY. Most of it is easy but those points at each end are going to be a bitch regardless. I'm taking it off and taking it apart too since the bottom bracket and supports on the sides come off. And it's also easily correctable if I FUBAR the wrap job.

Got ya. Looks like I asked just in time. Would you mind posting a pic when you’re done? Would like to see the final product.

Good luck!
