I called the Sales Manager at Koons Ford in Baltimore on Saturday and he confirmed what Silver Bullitt posted. I was going to wait to order a 2019 GT but, when the 2019 order guide was posted and I discovered a CD player is no longer a standard option and the Lightening Blue color had been discontinued for the 19 model year, I ordered a 2018 GT. The sales manager emailed me back yesterday and confirmed the dealership had ordered my 2018 GT (Koons still had 2018 GT allocations to use with Ford). I probably won't see it until early-to-mid June. But, there wasn't any significant changes, save the color and CD deletions for the 2019 model year..and trivial as these two options may seem, they were important enough for me to order an 18 vice waiting for a 19. :amen:
At this point it's a real gamble to place a 2018 order since technically ordering is pretty much done now that 2019 ordering is open. If you want a car sooner rather than later, I'd suggest having your dealer run a search for a car they can dealer trade for you. Lots of built up 2018 stock already so unless you have a really unique configuration that you want, there's a good chance that what you want is already sitting on a lot somewhere. Good luck!
Same for my March 28 GT Premium order. My dealer had 34 EcoBoost Mustangs in the system for May builds....all going to China. He pulled one and inserted mine. Got the VIN today. Will be built week of May 7th.
